ALYX BARRETO

Screenwriter and Co-Producer

            Alyx Barreto is makeup artist, fabrication specialist, writer and producer. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theater from the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana and a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

            Alyx has always been passionate about creating thought provoking and eclectic pieces of art. While at the University of Montana, Alyx worked in the costume and scene shops. She worked on over 40 stage productions which including shows like: Avenue Q, Pentecost, Angels in America, and A Christmas Carol, which toured with the Montana Repertoire Theater. She also studied art for two years while working on her theater degree with her emphasis being in sculpture.

            Alyx wrote several scripts while attending Full Sail University, including SFDD, a dark comedy and Happy, a sci-fi film. She was the writer and co-producer to her cohort’s thesis film, Surprise P.I., completing the film on time and underbudget. She helped run a successful crowd funding campaign and helped manage a cast and crew of around 62 people. She has worked in several different roles on a variety of projects. She has been a makeup artist and fabrication specialist on seven short films: SFDD, Happy, Lucid, Nocturna, Killer Clown Car and Hangman. She has also been the makeup artist on the TV pilot for the show The Lost Weekend.

Alyx will to move to Los Angeles, California next year to pursue a career in makeup and fabrication.
