CONGHAN HOU

Camera Operator

 Conghan Hou is a Cinematographer, Photographer, and Editor. He was born and raised in Hubei province, China and earned his Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from China Three Gorges University.


Conghan Hou has always been passionate about creating the perfect image and using photos as a means for storytelling. During his undergrad, he took around a thousand photos in order to show the city dismantled.  It is one of his photograph projects. As a volunteer project, he went down to a poor village to interview the villagers living there. He took thousands of photos to showcase what life in the village was like. He would go on to publish these photos in the newspaper in order to bring awareness of the living conditions that the villagers were in. The government took notice and began to put a support plan in place to help the village. It helped change the lives of hundreds of families. The photos also won an award at The Hubei University Students Photography Exhibition.


While studying at Full Sail University, Conghan Hou collaborated on five short films in the camera department. He created the story boards for three shorts and was a DP for two short films. For his thesis film Surprise P.I, Conghan Hou used the SONY F65 camera and was the Camera Operator. He led a camera team of 4 as part of a crew 62. He successfully recorded every shot that the DP wanted in a timely fashion. He also was an editor for the short film The Standoff.


Conghan is currently perfecting his skills as an Editor and Cinematographer while looking for an internship.
